Recording for the final breeding season for the Bird Atlas project commenced on 1 April.

We’ve made good progress across the region, though there are still areas where increased coverage is required.

This year we are looking to complete coverage in those TTV allocations, boost species number counts in those tetrads that currently have low numbers.

Please also ensure, wherever possible,  breeding evidence, especially confirmed breeding evidence is recorded.  Noting just suitable Habitat or Singing is enough for the record to count in the Atlas.  A large number of territorial birds, e.g. 5+ singing Willow Warblers can be noted as T for permanent territory.

More details of what is required are available.
